DERMOSCOPIC FEATURES OF NAIL PSORIASIS AND CORRELATION WITH DISEASE SEVERITY

Background / Objectives:Dermoscopy is a non-invasive technique that has been recognized recently as an effective tool in the diagnosis of nail diseases, including psoriasis. The aim this study was to clarify specific dermoscopic features psoriasis and identify those are correlated with disease severity. Methods: We conducted prospective over 18 months. Fifty patients followed for involvement were enrolled. Following clinical examination, classified according Nail Psoriasis Severity Index (NAPSI) Area (PASI). A examination all fingernails performed, plate, periungual folds, subungual area, cuticule hyponychium. Results: most frequently observed distal onycholysis (90%), hyperkeratosis (80%), splinter haemorrhage (72%), paronychia mottled lunula (62%), by dilated capillaries hyponychium (50%), pitting (48%), trachyonychia (42%), erythematous border onycholytic area (40%) leukonychia (32%). Statistically significant relationships between severity psoriasis, determined using PASI, presence pachyonychia, pitting, onycholysis, paronychia, onychomadesis well red lunula, crumbling. As well, haemorrhage, onychomadesis, crumbling relevant Conclusions:Dermoscopy can improve accuracy diagnostic. have demonstrated positive associations number manifestations
